Welcome to the new home of East Carondelet IL.  We hope you enjoy your visit to our new website it is our goal to keep you updated on the activites that are taking place in the community.

East Carondelet is a small community that sits in the most southern part of St. Clair County sitting  on the banks of the Mississippi River. The community has that small town atmosphere.  As people have commented it has a "little taste of Mayberry."  Even with being a small community the struggle of keeping up with time is a big chore.

The Village goverment is made up of the Mayor and six village trustee's.  The village also has a village Treasurer, village Attorney and a village Engineer.

The Village has its own Police Dept and it maintains its own street's.  The Village also has fire protection provided by the Prarie Dupont Fire District.  They have three fire houses with one being located with-in the village.  The village has a post office located in town, and a convenience store.  It's also Home of the larggest barge company in the country, the Ingram Barge Company.

The community has a good Neighbor hood Watch program that works to keep activites going on in the village .  The village has a new community center that was just built two years ago and it is avaliable for rentals.  It has seating for apporx 200 people.
